The 2018 Baseball State Tournament at Lebanon got underway on Saturday despite Friday night and early Saturday morning rain. The fields at Graham Memorial Park were ready to go at 10:00am.

12 Year old Division
Saturday Games
Game 1: St. Matthews 3 Fleming County 1
Fleming County jumped out to a 1-0 in the first inning helped by Brady Faris base hit. St. Matthews answered with one run in the second inning helped by Ethan Dillon double and in the third inning took the lead scoring twice. Bennett Holdener had a double. Jed Hamilton had a base hit.

Game 2: Warren County North 13 Corbin 4
Warren County North scored 8 runs in the sixth inning as they defeated Corbin 14-4. For Warren County North, Tucker Stringfield had a triple and a double. Drake Young added a triple. Maddox Tarrence had two hits. Wyatt Nesbitt had a homerun and two singles. For Corbin, Justin Troutman had a double. Jeremiah Gilbert, Conner Middleton and Bradrie Helton had a base hit.

Game 3: Glasow - 11 Adair County - 3
Glasgow scored four runs in the second and fourth inning to beat Adair County 11-3. For Glasgow, Easton Jessie had two hits. Cash Moore had a triple and a single. For Adair County, Brayton Coomer had two doubles. Jake McQueary had two hits.

Game 4: Eastern - 12 South Central Floyd County - 2
Eastern scored seven runs in the first inning to beat South Central Floyd County 12 -2. For Eastern, Leighton Harris had a homerun. Slabaugh had a triple. Walton Gaunce added a double. For South Central, Dillion Williams had a homerun. Grant Jenkins had a double.

Sunday Games
Game 1; Warren County North - 10 -  Fleming County - 0
A five run third inning by Warren County North lead to a 10-0 shutout of Fleming County. For Warren County North, Ayden Barrick had a homerun. Camden Elkins,Tucker Stringfield and Drake Young each had two hits. Maddox Tarrence added a double.

Game 2: St. Matthews - 5 Corbin -1
St. Matthews defeated Corbin 5-1 scoring 4 run s in the second. For St. Matthews, Bennett Holdener hit two homeruns. Ben Brewing had a double and a single. Sam Pearman and Ryan Macks had base hits. For Corbin, Camze Cinna and Landon Walker had base hits.

Game 3: Glasgow - 13 South Central Floyd - 1 Glasgow scored in every inning to beat South Central Floyd 13-1. For Glasgow, Braden Emmitt had a homerun. Jon Carter-Walbert added a triple. Jon Aden Carroll had a double. Weston Carroll had two hits.

Game 4: Eastern - 5 Adair County - 0 Eastern scored three times in the first inning as they blanked Adair County 5-0. For Eastern, Leighton Harris hit a homerun in the first inning and had a single. Owen Burnett had a double. Isaac Rone and Walton Gaunce had bse hits. For Adair County, Hayden Bennett and Lane Grant(2) had base hits.
 
Monday Games
Game 1: St. Matthews - 3 Warren County North - 2 St. Matthews needed eight innings to beat Warren County North 3-2 as Bennett Holdener had the game winning hit in the eighth inning. Bennett added a double in the fourth inning. Alex Johnson added a double. Jake Schwitzer(3) Matthew Holdener and San Pearman had base hits. For Warren County North, Maddox Tarrence and Morgan White each had a double.

Game 2: Corbin - 3 Fleming County - 0 Corbin blanked Fleming County 3-0 to pick up their first win of the tournament. For Corbin, Bradric Helton had two hits. Mikey Neal hit a two run homer over leftfield fence in the third inning. Cruz Cima had a base hit. For Fleming County, Seth Hickerson and Brady Faris had base hits.

Game 3: Adair County - 7 South Central Floyd - 5 Adair County put five runs on the board in the second inning as they topped South Central Floyd 7-5. For Adair County, Hayden Bennett had a homerun. Lane Grant, Kade Somerville, Jake McQuery and Brayton Coomer had base hits. For South Central Floyd County, Jacob Newsome had a double and a single, Keaton Brown, Dillon Williams, and Grant Jenkins had base hits.

Game 4: Eastern - 11 Glasgow - 10 Eastern held off a late rally by Glasgow in the sixth inning to win 11-10 and win their pool. For Eastern, Leighton Harris had a homerun and three singles. Quin Kennedy added a double. Easton Jessi and Cash More each had two hits.

Tuesday Games
Game 1: St. Matthews - 4 Glasgow - 0
St. Matthews advanced to the championship game with a 4-0 win over Glasow. For St. Matthews, Bennett Holdener pitched a no hitter and had 12 strikeouts in getting the win on the hill and had a homerun and a single at the plate. Matthew Holdener added a double. Sam Pearman(2), Jake Scheitzer, and Owen Rafferty had base hits.

Game 2: Warren County North - 5 Eastern 4
Warren County North topped Eastern 5 - 4 in seven innings to reach the finals. For Warren County North, Wyattt Nesbitt doubled and scored the go ahead run in the seventh inning. Aiden Barrick had two hits. Camden Elkins had a double ad two singles and picked up the win on the mound. Trevor Hudnall and Grant White had base hits. For Eastern, Charlie Slabaugh and Owen Burnett each had a base hit. Leighton Harris had a triple and two singles.

Wednesday 12 Year Old Division Championship Game : St. Matthews 10 Warren County North 1
St. Matthews claimed the state championship with a 10-1 win over Warren County North. For St.Matthews, Ben Bruenig had a homerun and a single. Bennett Holdener had two hits. Ethan Dillon added a double. Jake Schweitzer had a base hit, Jack Schweitzer had 8 strikeouts in getting the win. For Warren County North, Ayden Barrick had a double and a single. Camden Elkins had a double. Trevor Hudnall and Drake Young each had a base hit.

11 Year Old Division

Game 1: Washington County 9 North Laurel 0
Washington County shutout North Laurel to win 9-0. Camden Abell and Lance Coulter each had two hits. Anthony Taylor had a double and two base hits. For North Laurel, EJ Allen had two hits.

Game 2: Adair County 15 Knott County 4
Adair County scored six times in the first inning as they defeated Knott County 15-4. For Adair County, Alex Martin had a double and a single. Brody Brock and Steve Long each had two hits. For Knott County, Jaden Hull and Jaden Amburgey each had two hits.

Game 3: Bowling Green East 11 North Oldham 1
Bowling Green East scored six times in the first inning as they beat North Oldham 11-1. For Bowling Green East, Grayson Newman had a double and a single. Sol Guyer had a double. For North Oldham, Henryn Marcum had a double.

Game 4: Russell-Flatwoods 4 Eastern 3
Russell-Flatwwoods ended the day with a 4-3 win over Eastern. For Russell-Flatwoods, Connor Thacker, landon Stapleton, Rylan Kersey had base hits. For Eastern, Andrew Dixon had a double and a single. Jack Gambrell, Pierre Kaufmann and Ryan Harward had base hits.

Sunday games

Game 1: Washington County - 15 Adair County - 0 Washington County scored in every inning as they shutout Adair County 15-0. For Washington County, Camden Abell(2), Sy Bramblett, Dylan Mattingly, Alex Blaneford, and Nolan Robinson had base hits.

Game 2: North Laurel - 9 Knott County 8 North Laurel’s Cameron Smith knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Knott County 9-8. For North Laurel, Carter Kelley(3) and EJ Allen had doubles. Ashton Clemons, Ej Allen, and Caynan Sizemore had base hits. For Knott County, Connor Napier and Mason Amburgey each had two base hits.

Game 3: North Oldham - 5 Russell Flatwoods - 0 North Oldham defeated Russell Flatwoods with a 5-0 Shutout. For North Oldham, Noah Stinson, Clay Cartledge, Henry Marcum, Grady Gipson, Grayson Reed, Logan Perdue, and Josiah McCall had base hits. For Russell-Flatwoods, Jayden Frasure had a double. Hayden McGuire, Kyle Mokas, Landon Stapleton, and Cayden Jones had base hits.

Game 4: Eastern - 7 Bowling Green - 4 In the last game of the day Eastern topped Bowling Green 7-4. For Eastern, Pierre Kaufman(3), Banks Heinrich(2) Kyle Patterson, Lucas Stagner, Josh Edwards, and Jack Sams had base hits. For Bowling Green East, Grayson Newman had a homerun and a double. Evan Schallert, Luke Idlett, Harrison Yates, and Matthew Escalera had base hits. 

Monday Games
Game 1: North Laurel 4 Adair County 1
North Laurel scored two runs in the fifth inning as they defeated Adair County 4-1. Eli Holt and EJ Allen had base hits. For Adair County, Alex Martin, Brody Brock, and Zachary Burton had base hits.

Game 2: Washington County - 18 Knott County - 0 Washington County scored in every inning to win 18-0 over Knott County to win their pool. For Washington County, Nolan Robinson had a triple and a single. Anthony Taylor added a double and a single. Alex Blandford and Jon Tate Smith had base hits.

Game 3: Bowling Green East - 11 Russell-Flatwood - 1 Bowling Green Cliniched their pool with a 11-1 win over Russell-Flatwoods. For Bowling Green East, Evan Schaller, Luke Idlett each had two hits. For Russell-Flatwoods, Elijah harkins had two hits.

Game 4: North Oldham 7 Eastern - 6 A six run fourth inning helped North Oldham top Eastern 7-6. For North Oldham, Jackson Martin knocked in the go ahead run with a double in the fifth inning and had a three run double in the fourth. Grant Turner and Grady Gibson had base hits. For Eastern, Pierre Kaufman had a triple. Brock Coffman, Andrew Dixon, Brode Coffman, Jack Gambrell and Duncan Gaunce had base hits.

Tuesday Games
Game 1: North Oldham - 9 Washington County - 6 North Oldham scored three times in the fifth inning as they beat Washington County 9-6 to reach the championship game. For North Oldham, Henry Marcum had a three run homer in the first and a two run homer in the third inning. Jackson Martin had a go ahead two run double in the fifth inning. Clay Cartledge had a a double and a single at the plate and on the mound he picked up the win. Nathan Strausbaugh and Grant Turner had base hits. For Washington County, Nolan Robinson had atriple. Alex Blanford, Camden Abott, Andrew Mackin, Lance Coulter, and Dylan Mattingly had base hits.

Game 2: Bowling Green East - 13 North Laurel - 2 Bowling Green East advanced to the championship game as they scored in every inning to beat North Laurel 13-2. For Bowling Green East, Evan Schalbert, Matthew Esscalera, and Grayson Newman each had two hits. Lake Idlett had a double. Sol Gager had a base hit.

Wednesday  11 Year Old Division Championship Game: Bowling Green East 18 North Oldham 0
Bowling Green East scored 10 runs in the first inning on their way to winning the state championship shutting out North Oldham 18-0. For Bowling Green East, Ciron Jaggers had a homerun and a single. Chaz Huff Ryder Harbaugh had doubles. Luke Idlett and Grayson Newman each had three hits. For North Oldham, Nate Strausbaugh had a base hit.

10 Year Old Division
Saturday games
Game 1: North Oldham 14 Ashland American 4
North Oldham Scored in every inning to beat Ashland American 14-4. For North Oldham, Keith Mitchell and Logan Edsell each had a double. Nate Votaw had a double and a single. For Ashland American, Lyons and Ashby each had a double.

Game 2: Bowling Green East 7 Marion County 2
Bowling Green East knocked off Marion County 7- 2. For Bowling Green East, Obee had a double aand a single. For Marion County, Couch had a double.

Game 3: Eastern 4 Paintsville 3
Eastern scored four times in the sixth inning to beat Paintsville 4-3. For Eastern, John Luke Minnor, Jackson Stephan, Parker Mays, Dutch Perez , Brayden Tudor and Grady LaMonica had base hits. Brock Woods had two hits.

Game 4: North Laurel 13 -  Glasgow 0
North Laurel scored in every inning to shutout Glasgow 13-0. For North Laurel, Kenton Patterson had two hits. Jude McWhorter had two triples. Cooper Elza had two doubles and a single. Dylan Hurleyn added a double.

Sunday Games
Game 1: North Oldham 10 Marion County 2 North Oldham scored four runs in the second and fourth inning as they beat Marion County 10-2 in rain shortened game. For North Oldham, Nash Meredith and nate Votaw each had a double and a single. Andrew Dawson(2) Keith Mitchell, Nolan Hunt, Logan Edsell, Derek Dees had base hits. For Marion County, Gottee and Spaulding had doubles Lonham , Couch, Wright, and Newby had base hits. all other games in the division for the day were cancelled because of rain
Monday Games
Game 2 Bowling Green East - 11
Ashland American - 0 Sunday rain-outs were made up as Bowling Green East started the day with 11-0 shutout win over Ashland American. For Bowling Green East, Cameron Obee had a homerun. Jackson Lee had three hits. Grief Veazey had a double and two singles. Sam Holder added a double. For Ashland American, Brady Marushi had a double and a single.

Game 3: North Laurel - 5 Paintsville - 2
North Laurel jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as they defeated Paintsville 5-2. For North Laurel, Cooper Elza had a double. Bradyn Evans had two hits. For Paintsville, Anderson Lauffer and Alex Johnson had base hits.

Game 4: Eastern - 13 Glasgow - 7
Eastern scored in every inning to beat Glasgow 13-7. For Eastern, Hudson Cole had a triple. Alex Elmadolla had a double. John Luke Minner had two hits. For Glasgow, Giovanni Allen, Braxton Corner, Kaanen Allen, Peyton Lemily, and Hudson Gumm had base hits.

Tuesday Games
Game 1: Marion County - 9 Ashland American 8
Marion County edged Ashland American 9-8 in their final game. For Marion County, Noah Spalding had a triple and a double. Branden Couch added a double. Austin Porter and Jaiden Newby had base hits.

Game 2: Bowling Green East - 16 North Oldham - 0 Bowling Green East scored in every inning to beat North Oldham 16-10 to win their pool. For Bowling Green East, Cameron Obee had a homerun and a single. Landon Gilbert and drew Pierre each had a double. Sam Holder had three hits. For north Oldham, Nash meredith and Ryan Giles had base hits. Joe Walters added a triple.

Game 3: Eastern - 13 North Laurel - 3
Eastern knocked off North Laurel 13-3 to clinch their pool play. For Eastern, John Crandall(2), John Luke Minner(3) had multiple hits. Jackson Stephen had a triple and a single. For North Laurel, Cooper Elza had two doubles. Dylan Hurley had a base hit.

Game 4: Glasgow - 9 Paintsville - 8
In the final pool play game Glasgow defeated Paintsville 9-8 in seven innings. For Glasgow. Braxton Carnes had abase hit and scored the winning run. Giavanni Allen and Kaanan Allen had base hits. 

Wednesday Games
Game 1: Bowling Green 15 North Laurel 0
Bowling Green East scored in every inning to beat North Laurel 15-2 to advance to the championship game. For Bowling Green East, Jackson Lee and Landon Gilbert each had two hits. For North Laurel, Brady Evans had a double.

Game 2: North Oldham 8 Eastern 6 North Oldham reached the Championship game with a 8-6 win over Eastern. For North Oldham, Logan Edsell had two hits. Andrew Dawson and Nash Meredith each had a base hit. For Eastern, Gabe Wright and Justice Rueff had base hits.. Braden Tuder had a double.

Thursday  10 Year Old Division Championship Game:  Bowling Green East 17 - North Oldham 1
The 10 Year Old Division was decided with Bowling Green East claiming the state Championship with a 17-1 win over North Oldham. Bowling Green East scored 9 runs in the sixth inning to seal the game. For Bowling Green East, Pitchers Jackson Lee and Griff Veazey combined getting 10 strikeouts, allowing three hit and one run. Griff Veazey had a double and two singles. Cameron Obee and Jackson Lee each had three hits. Miles richie added a double. For North Oldham, Will Hinkle had a double. Joe Walters and Logan Edsell had base hits.
